Fishing is picking up as the weather begins to settle into a spring time pattern. Crawler harness, body baits, and we’ve even heard of a few fish being caught on spoons. Shallow water seems to be popular with a number of fishermen. Others are targeting the 16-20′ depths. Keep moving until you find active fish, and don’t be afraid to fish a line or two high in the water column for suspended fish. Mid-May fishing on Saginaw Bay, ENJOY !
Looks like we can expect a better week. The forecast indicates winds will be lighter than we’ve experienced the past few weeks. Some boats out this morning, north west wind 10-15 knots and sunny. Those that did manage to get out over the weekend said the shallows north and south of the marina produced a few fish. Slow trolled stick baits and crawlers were top picks. Good luck & be safe. We appreciate your business.
More North East wind and waves. Fishing has been slow due to conditions.
Rain and wind have kept water clarity to around one foot of visibility. Some fish were being caught out front in 17-21 feet of water. Trolling stick baits has been the most popular way to fish. Marina perch fishing has slowed down, mostly because of run off from recent rains making the water dirty.
